Course Descriptions:
 
Audio Video Production incorporates knowledge and skills related to audio/video equipment, computers and video editing software, and a full range of broadcast television equipment. Students are engaged in project learning and are expected to create video news stories and public service announcements. Student products are incorporated into the GHS daily newscast, On the Spot News.
 
Additional learning opportunities include newscast production and magazine-style television production.
 
Required materials/supplies:
pen or pencil
1 DVD+RW for student portfolio
 
Student expectations:
Students show respect for the classroom routine.
Students show respect for class organization practices.
Students show respect for the instructor.
Students show respect for others in the class.
Students follow instructions for assignments.
Students stay on task during class time.
Students follow check-out procedures for equipment use.
Students operate and store all equipment as instructed.
Students respect restrictions based on copyright issues, equipment safety, and instructor's decision-making authority.
Students recognize and use standardized formats as required in assignments, projects, and products.
Students obey school policy regarding dress code and cell phones.
 
Written policies and guidelines:
Students and parents sign an equipment responsibility agreement; students will be held accountable for damages to equipment.
Students and parents sign a contract regarding acceptable use and accountability.
Students receive and sign a copy of classroom rules.
