  • Retirement Celebration

On Thursday, GISD celebrated the retirement of 11 educators, who dedicated an incredible 305 years of combined experience to education. An even more astounding fact is that 260 of these years have been to Gainesville ISD. To top it all, EIGHT of the 11 retirees have spent their ENTIRE career in education at GISD. Wow! They are sure to be missed! Feel free to comment with the impact any one of these educators made on your life, as they each have affected so many GISD teachers, students, and the community. Congratulations to Shauna Smith, Crystal Harvick, Jean Hines, Joanie Jones, Jeff Gerken, Teri Neale, Sissie Gilbreath, Karen Bartlett, Pat Hunter, Tammy Murray, and Dora Barkley (not pictured)
