Gainesville ISD has been awarded funding from the Texas Education Agency to prevent, prepare for and respond to needs identified as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. This funding will provide an opportunity for GISD to address the needs such as learning loss of students, socialemotional needs of students and staff, health and safety needs of our students, staff and visitors to our campuses.

Gainesville ISD has been in the process of conducting needs assessments to determine how tobest utilize the funds provided. This needs assessment included meetings with stakeholders (campus/district staff, administrators, students, parents, community members and others), surveys, site-based meetings, board meetings, etc. The data collected has been utilized to develop the GISD ESSER Program Plan
