Mrs. Perkins
Mrs. Robin Perkins has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Arts from the University of Texas at Arlington. She has been teaching art workshops, private lessons, and homeschool groups for 20 years. Her love of art extends to drawing, painting, wood sculpture, ceramics, jewelry making, fiber arts, airbrushing, theatre production art, costumes, multimedia, murals, photography and cake decorating. She is active in the art scene and recently won "Best Painting" for the Bernese Mountain Dog Club of America national contest featured in their spring 2022 Alpenhouse magazine. This is her first year teaching art in a public school setting and she's very excited to share her diverse experiences with students.
Mrs. Perkins also has a Masters of Science in Counseling from the University of Phoenix in Denver, Colorado. She was a marriage, family and child therapist for over 10 years, specializing in medical illness, suicide, and grief and loss. She volunteered at Judy's House, and facilitated grief support groups for teens in the Douglas county school district in Colorado.
Her family has lived in the DFW metroplex, Denver, Colorado, Bremen, Germany, and Houston, Texas. Mrs. Perkins currently lives in Gainesville with her husband, Jeff and two daughters, Aubrie and Caitlynn. Jeff is a 20+ yr systems engineer with Lockheed Martin currently working on the Orion space capsule with NASA. Aubrie will be attending GHS and Caitlynn will be attending GJHS. The family lives on, owns, and operates the Ware Ranch, which has been in the family since 1854.
