My entire teaching career has been with Gainesville ISD at Robert E. Lee Intermediate! I taught Fourth Grade math, science, and writing for two years and then I taught Fifth Grade math and social studies for 5 years. During this time I have been to several math collaboratives with Region 11 and North Texas Central College. I have been a mentor teacher, on the site based committee, a STEP Teacher, and a member of the Instructional Leadership Team for Lee. During my time here I was blessed to win Teacher of the Month for September 2016 and then Elementary Teacher of the Year for the 2016-2017 school year. I have had many great leaders who invested their time in me and told me that they saw great leadership qualities in me. This is what led me to pursue a degree in Administration. I took hybrid classes with Texas Woman's University for a year and a half, and had the most amazing mentors during my practicum. Again, I was blessed and humbled to win Outstanding Principal Intern from the College of Professional Education at Texas Woman's University. Gainesville ISD and all of my amazing mentors have invested so much faith, time, and effort in helping me grow as a teacher, leader, and individual. I am very excited to start my transition from an Intermediate Teacher to a High School Assistant Principal. I am so thankful for all of the opportunities I have been given and cannot wait to return the investment in our students, teachers, and community.
