Karli Spangler is beginning her fifth year of teaching at Gainesville ISD and her 8th year of teaching overall. Ms. Spangler’s primary duties at Gainesville include leading the junior high band program as well as working with the flute and clarinet classes at the intermediate school, working with high school woodwind students, and instructing the high school color guard. Prior to this school year, Ms. Spangler led the Gainesville Intermediate School band program where she was named teacher of the year for the 2020-2021 school year. Under her direction, the intermediate school sixth grade band received consistent “superior” ratings at contests.

Before her employment in Gainesville Ms. Spangler taught kindergarten through 8th grade general music as well as assisted with band classes at Texas Leadership Charter Academy in Arlington, Texas. Ms. Spangler has also taught kindergarten through 8th grade music and band at Columbus Bilingual Academy in Columbus, Ohio. Ms. Spangler received her Bachelor of Science in Music Education degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania where she graduated summa cum laude
