Schedule of Regular Board Meetings

  • The Gainesville ISD Board of Trustees holds a regular meeting on the third Monday of each month. If the third Monday falls on a holiday or conflicts with the school calendar in any way, an alternative Monday is selected. Below is the schedule of Regular Meetings.  Special-called meetings are held as needed throughout the year.  All meetings are open to the public.

Meet the Board

  • Corey Hardin Corey Hardin, President
    Place 7, Election 2022
    3rd Term, 2013-present
    Corey Hardin was raised in Gainesville and went through all levels of GISD. Father of one son, Cailin Hardin, who graduated GHS in 2016. He has 2 brothers Charles and Donald Hardin, who were also educated in GISD. He served his country by virtue of the United States Army from 1997-2001. Corey graduated from NCTC's nursing program in 2006 and is currently working as a personal trainer, operating primarily out if Bosco's Gym in Gainesville.  He also holds a seat on the Board of Directors for CASA. Corey is a member of Whaley United Methodist Church. "My mission in life is fitness and I hope to be a contributing member of this team of 8 to continue the progress and momentum that is back in the GISD."

    Phil Neelley Phil Neelley, Vice President
    Place 6, Election 2022

    2nd Term, 2016-present
    Phil grew up in Andrews, Texas where he graduated from Andrews High School in 1992. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1996 with a BS in Industrial Distribution.  Phil serves on the City of Gainesville Planning & Zoning Commission and has served on the Gainesville City Council in the past.  Phil is the President of Trident Process Systems in Gainesville.  He is married to Amanda and they have three children.

    Marvin Royal

    Marvin Royal, Secretary

    2nd term, 2017-present
    Marvin is a 1992 graduate of GHS.  In his time at GHS, Marvin was active in football, basketball, and baseball. Marvin attended Navarro JC, NCTC (Cooke County College) where he played baseball. Marvin is also a member of Gainesville Kiwanis, and an Abigail Arms/Child Advocacy Center Board member. Marvin is an active NCAA men's college basketball official for the SAC, GAC, Lone Star, American Southwest, and GSOA conferences as well as a member of the North Texas Basketball Officials Association- High School. He has represented NTBOA as an official at the Texas High School Boys State Championships for 6 years. Marvin is also an active high school football official for FWFO. Marvin has a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication. Marvin and his wife Keli, a GISD teacher, have 2 daughters: Makenli and Malia, who attend Lee Intermediate and Chalmers Elementary.
    Brad Cox

    1st Term; 2018 to present
    Brad Cox is a fifth generation Gainesville native and graduated from GISD in 2002. Brad graduated from Texas A&M University with a BS in Agricultural Leadership Development, minor in Business Administration in 2006. Brad has two sons, Solomon and Atlas. Brad works for First State Bank of Gainesville. He also volunteers as a CASA advocate and currently serves on the boards of the Young Professionals of Cooke County (YPCC) and Summer Sounds. 

    Nathan Dempsey Nathan Dempsey

    1st term; 2018-present

    Nathan grew up in Ennis, TX where he graduated from St. John Catholic School. He and his wife Nicole have three sons; Harrison, Jeffrey and Reed.  Nathan serves on the Gainesville Planning and Zoning Commission. He is the Director of Sales for Site Safe in Gainesville. He started the GHS Bass Fishing team in 2016 and is an active member of the GHS Athletic Booster Club.  

    Latecia Hendricks

    Latecia Hendricks grew up in the Ft. Lauderdale/Miami, Florida area where she graduated from Miramar High School in 2004. She received her certification as a Medical Assistant from Sheridan Technical School in Hollywood, Florida in 2007. She moved to Gainesville in 2013 to live closer to her father. Latecia graduated from the University of Phoenix with a BS in Public Administration in 2019 and plans on starting her Master’s Degree in Public Administration. Latecia works for North Central Texas College. She is a member of the Gainesville Kiwanis Club, serves on the Gainesville MLK Committee, and volunteers in many different community projects. Latecia has two children, Reina and Robert.

    Dan Doss

    1st term
    Dan Doss is the Director of Purchasing at North Central Texas College and he also owns a local construction company. Dan attended Sul Ross State University where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications in 2003 and a Master of Arts in Technical Theater. Prior to being elected to the Board, Dan was involved on the Parent Advisory Committee and Health Advisory Committee. He also volunteered each year to surprise our elementary students as “The Cat in the Hat” for Dr. Seuss week. An active member of First Baptist Church Gainesville, Dan serves on the Properties Committee, Church Council, and Long-Range Planning Team. In addition, he is on the City of Gainesville Planning and Zoning Commission. Dan and his wife Angela have lived in Gainesville since 2005. They have two children, Daylin and Delaynie.
