Junior Achievement Day

  • JA day volunteers

On October 31, 2019, Chalmers (2nd-4th) students were treated to Junior Achivement Day! The GISD Education Foundation organized the JA day and more than 40 community members volunteered for the event, teaching wonderful lessons provided by the JA organization. Each of the volunteers donated 6 hours of their valuable time PLUS the prep and training time required for a successful day in the classroom. Junior Achievement's purpose is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy. The Education Foundation is thrilled to be able to provide this opportunity for the students and to help bring volunteers into the GISD schools.

Thank you to the businesses who provided volunteers, in additon to the GISD curriculum team, parents, and other community  members!  The students loved learning about entrepreneurship and financial literacy!
