• Grading Policy

Grades will be posted weekly in Ascender on Sunday at 8 p.m.

Major grades such as tests or major projects will comprise 40% of the grading period average; 60% of the grade will be based on daily activities such as homework, class work, daily observations, daily quizzes, and class participation. These grades should be a balanced representation of work completed during the semester. The semester grade is an average of the three grading periods. Grades should only reflect ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE, NOT BEHAVIOR.

    Number of Grades

    Accurate student evaluation is essential.

    • A minimum of two daily grades posted each week.
    • In addition, one major grade posted each 3 weeks.
      • A minimum of 2 major grades per grading period.

Students should never receive a grade average for the grading period that is based on an insufficient number of grades. If grades are submitted at less than the minimum number of grades required, the teacher of record will be asked to adjust to meet the requirements and hand-calculate the new grades.

    3 Week Progress Reports

Progress reports made avaiable online via Parent Portal for every student at the end of the first 3 weeks of the grading period.

    Student Conduct Grades

Teachers have the option to make a note of student conduct on each report card.
