About the Bond Oversight Committee
The Bond Oversight Committee (BOC) is an advisory committee to the Gainesville ISD Board of Trustees. Its charge is to:
- Monitor the progress of bond projects authorized by Gainesville ISD voters;
- Ensure transparency to enhance public confidence in the use of proceeds from the sale of these bonds;
- Provide the Board of Trustees with recommendations for or against any change of scope for the adopt projects; and
- Provide regular reports to the Board.
The Bond Oversight Committee, appointed by GISD Board of Trustees, ensures that the projects remain accurate to the voter-approved 2025 bond program. While this committee has no legal authority to make any decisions regarding the 2025 Bond, the committee will monitor the bond projects to make sure they are completed on time, with quality and within budget. The committee will serve a vital role in providing feedback to the GISD Board of Trustees and GISD Administration about the 2025 Bond.
NOTE: The ultimate responsibility for construction decisions and project completion lies solely with the seven elected members of the Gainesville ISD Board of Trustees. Gainesville ISD is committed, however, to ensuring the credibility of the 2025 Bond Program by keeping community members involved in the process.
