Prize Patrol Awards Innovative Teaching Grants
2023-2024 Innovative Grants
On September 20, the Gainesville ISD Education Foundation Board prize patrol circulated the GISD campuses, spreading joy and surprising the 2024-2025 Innovative Teaching Grant recipients. The Education Foundation board of directors work throughout the year to generate funds and distribute resources to GISD to enrich, maintain and expand programs needed to meet the district’s stated mission in excellence. The foundation shares the district’s vision of enhancing education at GISD. This year, a total of 33 grants were awarded for a combined total of $54,700. To date the Foundation has granted $548,805.00 in innovative grants.
Edison Elementary received $8,439.00. The kindergarten team received light tables that are interactive and innovative learning for their students. The dual language program received a new book library for their classroom collection, first grade received writing tablets and Pre-K received sensory bins with different themes and characters for each classroom.
Chalmers Elementary received $7,314.00. The third grade received VersaTiles for interactive learning, all grade levels received iPads for intervention learning purposes, The library received printer equipment for their new printer, and life skills received hands-on materials. Other awards include audiobooks, interactive reading resources, and books.
Intermediate received $10,143.00. Fifth grade received scan reader pens to help students learn how to articulate their words while reading and a Spanish library. Other grants include guiding reading books, Rachel Danielson received intervention book sets for her students, and LCD writing tables.
Gainesville Junior High received $9,990.00 this year. Ms. Mansker’s library received interactive VR Headsets, ELAR received writing whiteboards, Spanish & Art students will be visiting the Dallas Museum of Art, Angela Gore’s class received 3D printer resin & materials for their 3D machine, and multiple classes received reusable models for hands-on learning.
Lastly, Gainesville High School received $16,814.00 and was awarded eleven grants from the foundation. The culinary department received a camera and light materials so students can learn to photograph their food they make for presentation purposes, all art departments across the district received Ipads, GHS art department received screen printing materials, the theater department were given scene shop materials including tools & other necessary materials, Health received blood pressure monitors, Mr. French’s class received a drone, and Mr. Freeman’s students received materials to be purchased along with a CNC machine.
GISD wants to thank the Education Foundation for all of their hard work and dedication to our students and staff throughout the year. We are excited to see our students learn and grow through the items and trips provided by these grants!
2023-2024 Innovative Grants
On November 17, 2023, the Gainesville ISD Education Foundation Board prize patrol circulated the GISD campuses and awarded 29 grants for a combined total of $37,882.63.
2022-2023 INNOVATIVE GRANTS
On November 18, 2022, the Gainesville ISD Education Foundation Board prize patrol circulated the GISD campuses and awarded 25 grants for a combined total of $37,905.68.
2021-2022 INNOVATIVE GRANTS
On November 19, 2021 the Gainesville ISD Education Foundation Board prize patrol circulated the GISD campuses and awarded 24 grants for a combined total of $33,014.61.
