Dear GISD Family,

As we reflect on the 2023-2024 school year, we are filled with pride and excitement for the remarkable achievements of our students and the innovative programs we have introduced throughout our district. This year has been a testament to the dedication and hard work of our students, educators, and staff, as well as the unwavering support of our community.

Our students have excelled both academically and athletically. An impressive 12 out of our 15 athletic teams made the playoffs, showcasing their talent, teamwork, and perseverance. Beyond the playing fields, our students shined brightly in the arts and career technology education. We are proud to announce that 32 of our students qualified for state-level competitions in Band, Art, Theatre, and Career Technology Education courses. These accomplishments highlight the diverse talents and commitment to excellence that our students embody.

In addition to celebrating these achievements, we are thrilled to introduce the "Leopard Promise" program, which was launched this year with our first cohort of 8th graders. As these students transition to high school in the 2024-2025 school year, the Leopard Promise program will provide them with an incredible opportunity: all of their dual credit coursework will be fully funded as they work towards earning an Associate's degree, at no cost to the family. This initiative is a significant step in our ongoing efforts to offer our students pathways to success and to prepare them as the leaders of tomorrow.

These milestones are not just individual successes, but a reflection of our collective efforts to foster an environment where every student can thrive. We remain committed to providing our students with the resources and opportunities they need to achieve their full potential.
