Purpose of the Campus Improvement Plan
The purpose of the Campus Improvement Plan (CIP) is to use data from a needs assessment to develop a comprehensive plan to improve teaching and learning in school, particularly for those students farthest away from demonstrating proficiency on the State academic content and achievement standards. The CIP serves as the blueprint for how the campus will actually address the needs identified during the Comprehensive Needs Assessment (CNA). An effective CIP can bring focus and coherence to reform activities and help ensure unity of purpose, alignment, and clear accountability.
Improved student achievement is a joint effort between the school and the home. The following responsibilities of the school, the parent/guardian, and the student should help encourage a joint effort to help each student achieve the state’s high standards of achievement.
