MEALS ARE FREE FOR KIDS & TEENS 18 & UNDER

Any child 18 & under can receive a meal for free! People over the age of 18 who are enrolled in school programs for persons with disabilities may also receive meals. The child(ren) does NOT need to be enrolled in the district to receive the meal. So, if you are coming from a neighboring city, or have family in from out of town, as long as they are 18 & under, they are eligible. Adult meals can be purchased with cash only for $5.

MEALS MUST BE CONSUMED ON SITE AT GAINESVILLE HIGH SCHOOL AND THE FOOD TRUCK

Whether you are receiving a meal from a school site or from a mobile unit, kids must consume the meal on site. Mobile Unit sites provide shade, tables, and chairs for children to sit at as they enjoy their meal.

GRAB & GO SUMMER MEALS ARE AVAILABLE AT CHALMERS ELEMENTARY ONLY

In the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), parent or guardian pick-up is a meal service option for which Chalmers Elementary will be allowing meals to be picked up by parents or guardians to take home to their children. This offers a more flexible option, allowing for greater access to nutritious meals for children who may not be able to attend a traditional congregate meal site. Child Nutrition Staff may ask for one of the following for proof that meals are given to children 18 and under:

• Official letter or email from a school confirming student enrollment,
• Student ID cards,
• Individual student report cards,
• Attendance record from the parent portal of the school website,
• Other official third-party records.

ALL SITES ARE “OPEN” SITES

All sites are open, meaning you don’t need to be in school, live at the meal site, or even live in the community where the meal is served, as long as you are 18 & under, you can show up to any meal service site and receive a free meal. We always encourage families to go to Chalmers Elementary or Gainesville High School cafeterias for meals so they can be inside and out of the heat!

SNACKS ARE SOLD AT MEAL SITES FOR CASH ONLY

Campus cafeterias and the food truck will be selling snacks on site for cash only. Please see specific campus or site for offerings and prices. Cards or mobile payments cannot be taken!
