Pay Plans

The pay plan for all GISD positions is updated annually as approved by the Board of Trustees.

Teachers (HB2)
Nurses, Librarians, Other Teaching Personnel
Auxiliary Staff
Clerical/Paraprofessional
Administrative Professional

Teacher Retention Allotment

Employee Benefits

  • For staff on pay scales AX1 and PP1-PP4, the district will contribute $382.00 towards medical insurance premiums. All other district employees/pay scales will receive a $291.66 contribution.
  • Gainesville ISD provides $20,000 in life insurance benefits at no cost to the employee.
  • Gainesville ISD provides Care Flight insurance that covers an entire household at no cost to the employee.
  • Sick and Personal Leave
  • Retirement benefits through Texas Retirement System (TRS)

Signing Bonus (one-time)

  • Bilingual certified teacher - $10,000 (2-year commitment)

Teaching Stipends (annual)

  • Bilingual certified teacher - $5,000
  • 7-12 science - $3,000
  • 7-12 math - $3,000
  • 9-12 foreign language - $2,000
  • Self-contained SPED - $2,000
  • Department chair/Lead teacher - $1,000*
  • PK-12 ESL - $500
    *If duty is split between two or more staff members, the $1000 stipend will be split as well.

Substitute daily pay rates

  • $150 - Texas certified teacher
  • $120 - Non-Certified
  • $160 - Long-term certified teacher 
  • $130 - Long -term non-certified teacher 
    A long - term sub is one who subs for more than 15 days in a row in the same position.
