Substitute at GISD!

All subs, both new and returning, are required to attend orientation prior to being approved for employment for the 2025 - 2026 school year.

All new substitutes must complete an online employment application prior to the training. Please bring a current driver’s license, social security card and official high school and/or college transcripts to orientation. 

Orientation will take place at the GISD Administration Building located at 900 N. Grand Ave.  For any questions, please contact Human Resources at 940-665-4362.

Pay Rates

sub pay rates
  • $150 - Texas certified teacher
  • $120 - Non-Certified
  • $160 - Long-term certified teacher 
  • $130 - Long -term non-certified teacher 
    A long - term sub is one who subs for more than 15 days in a row in the same position.
