Deontre Haynes was born and raised in Killeen, Texas before graduating from Shoemaker High School with a scholarship opportunity to run track and field at the University of Texas-Arlington. Haynes would return to Killeen and teach at Killeen High School (2019-2021) before teaching at Gainesville High School. Coach Haynes will be teaching Economy, U.S Government, Political Science, and will be lead sponsor of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA).
