Miss Rouse

I am so excited to be joining Gainesville HS! I grew up all over the world, from Asia to Europe, exploring the great ecosystems and wonderful cultures that made emersive learning experiences of inclusivity, acceptance, and diversity. After graduation, I had the honor of serving in the United States Air Force. As a high school teacher, I can assure you, I knew that college was not the right immediate jump for me and I needed some time to discover the path I was on before deciding what I wanted to study and where I wanted to serve my community.

I finished my Bachelor of Science degree in General Studies with concentrations in Education, Biology, Agriculture, and Management in 2019 from Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas, and earned my Masters in Biology with a minor in Post-Secondary Education in 2021 from Grand Canyon University.

Since finishing my degrees, I have enjoyed sharing my adventures and education with my students in Fort Worth and Newman International Academy and Denton ISD. I have so much pride in showing my students the magic of science, except it's REAL!

A little about my home life- I have three wonderful children! My oldest daughter is beginning high school this year! She plays  the flute in Marching Band and is such an amazing kid, like I know everyone of my students are! My middle daughter is a feisty little girl. She is beginning 3rd grade this year. She wants to be a "YouTuber" when she grows up. I am still working on talking her into going into mechanical engineering or robotics because she is brilliant with figuring out how things work. Anything physics, mathmatics, mechanical, engineering, and technology. She is the resident specialist! My youngest is 5 and he is in kindergarten. He is determined to be a paleontologist, and yes, he does know that word and can identify almost every dinosaur by skeleton, I unfortunately, do not have that skill.

I also have 2 German Shepherds, Gwenivere and Luna, and one very obnoxious cat, Linx.

My promise to you is that I will challenge you/your children to think on higher levels like I do my own children, like my teachers taught me. I promise you to teach you beyond the facts of Chemistry and Biology, but to really teach you how to think and apply these concepts to areas outside of the school building. I promise to give you the room to grow in my classroom and to hear you out so I can meet you where you are, and give you the hand up but never the hand out. I promise you that you will work hard, it may feel like your brain has a muscle pump, it won't be easy but it will 100% be worth it!

I am looking forward to getting to know my students and to embracing the Leopard life adventure!
