Culinary Arts Classes
The field represents many disciplines, including hospitality and tourism, human services, consumer science, nutrition, food preparation, parenting, early childhood education, family economics and resource management, human development, interior design, textiles, apparel design, as well as other related subjects. The classes offered at Gainesville High School follow either the Human Services or the Hospitality and Tourism pathways. Students in the Hospitality and Tourism classes will receive ServSafe Food Handlers and Managers Certifications and the American Culinary Federation Certified Fundamentals Cook Certification to assist with employment opportunities.
Culinary Arts explores the fundamentals and principles of the art of cooking and the science of baking, including management and production skills and techniques.Students have the opportunity to earn 3 certifications and are encouraged to participate in extended learning experiences offered through FCCLA.
