Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Tammie Kupper
My name is Tammie Kupper and I have had the honor of being an educator in Texas for the past 20 years. I am excited about being part of the Lee family at GISD and getting to spend my day with our amazing 5th grade Leopards.
I received my bachelor's degree from Texas Women's University by way of Tarleton State University and NCTC.
I have worked in many grade levels in my 20 years. I have worked in Head Start with 3 and 4 year olds, Kindergarten and 1st grade teaching all subjects. I have also taught Reading (ELAR) and Social Studies in 2nd and 3rd grades. Then I have taught 4th grade science and social studies, 6th grade Social Studies PreK-5th PE, 7th grade science, 8th grade English and 7th grade ELAR. I am very excited to teach 5th grade Reading, Language, and Social Studies! I have loved my time working with students so much that I seem to follow them to the next grade level and at sporting events. Yes, I'm one of those teachers that become attached to your children and want to see their growth for many years to come.
I have four children named Dirk, Brittan, Holt, and Kellyn. Dirk still lives with me and is my oldest. Brittan is my oldest daughter and she gave me the most precious gifts, a granddaughter named Blakleigh Raycen (5), who started Kindergarten this year, and a grandson named Brantley Brian (2). Holt is working full time and plans on returning to college after a year off (if Covid lets him). My baby girl is 19 and is currently attending college at MSU and recently was married to Tyler, who is stationed in Japan. I have been married for 4 years to a wonderful man. He has given me a step son named JT who is a Senior in Whitesboro, that I adore and love to watch play basketball and Tennis. I have become very close friends with J.T.'s mom and his half sister, who is also named Kellyn. Together Darrin and I have the sweetest doggy named Remi. She is a yellow lab and she loves to cuddle! We also rescued a chocolate lab named Kimber, who is very hyper, but so happy to have a forever home where she gets to sleep in the house. A third puppy, that we named Mia, was dropped off at our door steps. She has quickly become part of the family and fits in well with the other 2. She is the protector of the house, while the other two like to sleep most of the day.
Thank you for the privilege of getting to spend time with your children daily, and to share my love of reading and learning in general with them. Please do not hesitate to contact me.
