It's great to be at Lee Intermediate! I am thrilled to be serving as Principal at Lee for the second year. Prior to my return to GISD two years ago, I served as High School assistant principal and then Intermediate principal in another district for 9 years. Previous to that, I taught and coached at GHS from 2000 to 2008. I look forward to meeting and getting to know the students and parents who will be joining us at Lee this year.
Originally from Rush Springs, OK, I graduated from Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma, in 1984 with a B.S. in Zoology and a minor in Chemistry. I worked in the Metroplex while earning an M. Div. in Theology from SWBTS in Ft. Worth in 1991. About that time a new aspect of the family business was taking off back in Oklahoma so I went back home and raised ostriches with my family for several years. I went on a mission trip to Austria in 2000, where I played fast pitch softball and helped with youth sports camps all summer. It was then that I heeded the call to work with students, teaching and coaching at GHS. I received my Master of Education degree from UNT in 2006, and became a school administrator in 2008. This will be my 12th year as an administrator, and my third with GISD. I have loved seeing former students and parents of the District, and appreciate renewing those friendships and building new ones. I am extremely excited now to be serving with the fine faculty and staff at Lee.
We love the family and community support of all our students and staff, and would be honored by a visit anytime. If you would like to volunteer to serve as a greeter, mentor, to help with materials or projects, during P.E. or lunches, or in some other capacity, just let us know so we can run a background check and get you going. See Mrs. Nava or Ms. Coody for the form to sign.
