Gainesville ISD is excited to announce the appointment of April Burgess as our new Student Information Systems (SIS) Administrator.

April brings 23 years of dedicated service to Gainesville ISD, where she has faithfully served as a computer technician at Chalmers Elementary. Throughout her career, she has become known for her strong technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and unwavering commitment to supporting students, staff, and campus operations.

In her new role, April will oversee GISD’s Student Information Systems and continue helping lead and support the district’s online learning platforms, including Clever. Her extensive experience and deep understanding of district technology systems make her exceptionally prepared to help keep GISD running smoothly and efficiently.

Ms. Burgess's commitment to Gainesville ISD extends beyond her professional role. She is a proud mom to her son, Brady, who will be a senior in 2026, and her daughter, Cheyenne, who also serves GISD as a computer technician at Edison and Chalmers Elementary.
