The Texas Education Agency (TEA) recently released the 2025–2026 A–F Accountability Ratings for school districts across Texas. At Gainesville ISD, we believe accountability matters, and we welcome the opportunity to reflect on our progress, celebrate our successes, and identify areas for continued growth.

As a district, Gainesville ISD improved by four points, increasing to a score of 69. One of our greatest accomplishments and points of pride is the remarkable growth demonstrated by Chalmers Elementary and Edison Elementary. Both campuses improved by 28 points, moving from an F rating to a B rating in just one year.

Other campus results include:

• Gainesville Intermediate School: Decreased by 6 points
• Gainesville Junior High School: Increased by 2 points
• Gainesville High School: Decreased by 6 points

While these ratings provide valuable information, one letter grade does not define a school district, a campus, or the students and educators who work hard every day. We will carefully review the preliminary results and, if discrepancies are identified, pursue the appropriate appeals process to ensure the final accountability ratings accurately reflect the performance and progress of our students and schools.

The true story of Gainesville ISD is found in the growth of our students, the dedication of our staff, the relationships built within our schools, and the unwavering support of our families and community. While there will always be areas to celebrate and opportunities for improvement, we remain committed to continuous growth and to providing every student with the opportunity to succeed.
