Parent Advisory Committee

Dear GISD Parents and Guardians,

I hope this letter finds you and your family well. As Superintendent of Gainesville ISD, I am always looking for ways to strengthen the educational experience for our students. With that goal in mind, I would like to invite you to join our Parent Advisory Committee (PAC), an opportunity to work directly with district leadership as we plan for the future of education in Gainesville ISD.

The PAC provides valuable feedback to me as Superintendent, and your insights will help us strengthen our schools, enhance the learning environment, and expand opportunities for all students. Through open dialogue and collaboration, committee members will discuss a variety of topics ranging from the state of public education to district initiatives and opportunities available to our children.

There are three meetings scheduled for this school year:

  • October 6
  • January 5
  • April 6

All meetings will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the GISD Administration Office, 900 N. Grand Avenue.

We will also offer a Spanish Parent Advisory Committee (SPAC) for our Spanish-speaking families. Meetings are scheduled for:

  • October 13
  • January 12
  • April 13

All SPAC meetings will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the GISD Administration Office.

Research consistently shows that one of the strongest factors contributing to student success is parent involvement. By participating in a parent advisory committee, you gain a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing our schools while helping shape decisions that affect our students. Your participation also creates opportunities to connect with other families, gain valuable insights into your child's education, and serve as an advocate for student success.

Together, we can build on the many accomplishments already achieved in Gainesville ISD and continue creating opportunities for future success. I am committed to providing every student with the highest quality education possible, and I welcome all parents and guardians who wish to be part of that work to join us at the table.

Thank you for your time, your dedication, and your partnership in supporting our students. I look forward to working together to make a lasting difference in the lives of our children.

Sincerely,

DesMontes Stewart, Ed.D.
