Rene Kozar GJH Assistant Principal

Gainesville ISD is proud to welcome Mrs. Rene Kozar as the new Assistant Principal of Gainesville Junior High School.

Mrs. Kozar is a native of the beautiful island of Kauai.  The values of family, community, and hard work that I learned growing up continue to guide me both personally and professionally.  She earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Oklahoma and was a special education teacher for 14 years, working alongside students, families, and her colleagues. Those experiences strengthened my passion for helping students grow academically, socially, and emotionally, and ultimately inspired me to pursue a career in educational leadership.

Rene and her husband have been happily married for 33 years and we are blessed with two adult children, their spouses, and two wonderful grandchildren.

I chose Gainesville ISD because of its commitment to providing meaningful opportunities for parents, guardians, and the community to connect with our schools, while ensuring every student receives an equitable educational experience, this aligns closely with my own educational values and goals.

As a junior high administrator, I believe the middle school years are a pivotal time for students to discover their strengths, build confidence, and prepare for future success. I am committed to fostering a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued, challenged, and encouraged to reach their full potential.

I look forward to partnering with our students, families, and staff to make this school year a positive, rewarding, and successful experience for everyone!
