GISD Welcomes Two New Board Members

The November election brought two new members to the GISD Board of Trustees. The seats held by Marvin Royal, Mike Rosenberg, and Will Presson were up for election for a three year term. Marvin Royal ran unopposed to remain in Place 2. Latecia Hendricks ran unopposed for Place 1 and Dan Doss ran unopposed for Place 3. At the Board meeting on November 16, the two new Board members took the oath of office. In addition, the reorganization of the Board took place with all offices remaining the same. Corey Hardin will remain President, Phil Neelley Vice President, and Marvin Royal Secretary.

He also volunteered each year to surprise our elementary students as “The Cat in the Hat” for Dr. Seuss week. “I wanted to do more to help contribute to the success of all students at GISD. I saw firsthand how coming in as “The Cat” positively impacted the kids' day. As a School Board member, I knew I would be in a position to help continue improving the success of our GISD students.”
