Shifts in District Leadership
Gainesville ISD: Gainesville ISD will have a few changes in District leadership in the near future. Mrs. LaCreasha Stille will shift from Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction to Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources. This position opened following the announcement of the retirement of Mrs. Paula Moore, who will be leaving education following 29 years at GISD. Although Moore’s retirement is not effective until December, Stille’s transition and training in the role will begin immediately.
Stille has been in education for 28 years and has completed 5 years at GISD, with the last 4 years as Assistant Superintendent. A Gainesville High School graduate, she began her career at GISD as a teacher’s aide before leaving GISD and completing 10 years as a teacher followed by 13 years as a campus administrator, before returning to GISD. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Education degree in Educational Leadership at UNT and will graduate in May 2024.
“I enjoyed supporting new teachers' learning as they transitioned to GISD during my role as Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction,” Stille said. “In my new position, my goal is to ensure that all employees, new and existing, receive the assistance they need from the HR department. Providing support through the onboarding process and focusing on recruitment and retention will be my priorities.”
Stille’s position will also be filled internally, with the appointment of Mrs. Dana Dudenhoeffer to Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction. Dudenhoeffer currently serves as the Assistant Principal at Edison Elementary. Although new to campus administration, she has been at GISD for all of her 25 years in education. Throughout her career, she has been an elementary teacher, Instructional Coach, Instructional Coordinator, Dean of Students and Assistant Principal.
“I am honored and excited about the opportunity to serve our GISD community in this new role,” Dudenhoeffer said. “I am deeply passionate about providing rich learning experiences for both staff and students. I look forward to learning and growing with our excellent teaching staff to equip our students for current and future success.”
“Mrs. Stille and Mrs. Dudenhoeffer have each done a phenomenal job in their current roles and there is no doubt that this will continue after the transition becomes final,” Dr. Stewart said. “They are two widely respected professionals that bring a wealth of knowledge to the table. It excites me to think about these two fine educational leaders leading both the curriculum and instruction and human resources departments into the future. It is a GREAT day to be a LEOPARD!”
Another transition in duties following the retirement of Moore is in regard to Federal Programs. Previously, Moore wore both the hats of Director of HR and Director of Federal Programs. These roles have been split and Ms. Amber Rains has taken the role of Director of Federal Programs. These duties are in addition to her role as Director of BIL/ESL Programs. She assumed that title this past summer.
Amber has been in education for 21 years, with 12 of those years here at Gainesville ISD. Throughout her career, she has taught across multiple grade levels K-8 and was a campus administrator for 8 years prior to moving to the central office as the District Coordinator of BIL/ESL programs and RTI for 4 years.
