Gainesville ISD will be hosting a 2023-2024 registration round-up for all students entering Head Start, Pre-K, or Kindergarten in the Fall.   There are four opportunities to complete early registration.  Edison Elementary, located at 1 Edison Drive, will be open for registration from 1pm-6pm on Friday, April 14, and also on 8am - 12pm on Saturday, April 15.  Head Start staff will also be in attendance to take applications for that program. Additional opportunities for in-person registration are Thursday, April 27, from 8 am - 7 pm and Monday, May 15 from 8am- 7pm.

Parents of students who will be 3, 4 or 5 years of age before September 1, 2023 are encouraged to attend.  Kindergarten is open to any student who will be 5 years of age on September 1, 2023.  Pre-K and Head Start students must qualify for the program. Pre-K is open to qualifying students who are 4 years of age on September 1, 2023. Head Start is open to qualifying 3- and 4-year-old students. Qualifying factors vary for each program, so parents are encouraged to attend to determine if their student meets eligibility requirements.  

During the round-up event, office staff will be available to answer any enrollment eligibility questions, assist with online registration, and to accept enrollment documentation. Documentation requirements include:  parent identification, child’s social security card, birth certificate, proof of residency, immunization record, and proof of income (Pre-K/Head Start only).
