Tia Scott Named GJH Assistant Principal

Tia Scott has been named as the Assistant Principal at Gainesville Junior High.  Mrs. Scott joins the administrative team with Josh Kelly, who was promoted from AP to Principal this summer following the departure of Krista Beal.

Tia has been in education for 17 years, including 14 years teaching junior high and high school science.  She returned home to Gainesville three years ago and served one year as an Instructional Coach and two years as the K-12 Science Content Coordinator.  Tia holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Master’s in Education (Curriculum & Instruction).

Tia has been married to her husband Lance for 7 years and together they have a large, blended family. Tia is the mom to 8 children (5 by birth, 1 through adoption, and 2 by marriage).  They also have a granddaughter that will be turning one this year. In addition, they have three lovable fur babies, Olaf, Nina and Thor. When we are not attending one of our children's extracurricular activities, you can find us serving drinks at our local business here in town.

“I am a proud 1997 graduate of Gainesville High School and was thrilled when an opportunity arose for me to return to my hometown in 2019 to give back to the community where I was born and raised. For the last three years, I have supported several campuses throughout GISD and now my focus will be with GJHS. My primary goal as Assistant Principal is to wholeheartedly serve the students, staff, and parents of GJHS under the leadership of Mr. Kelly. I am grateful for this opportunity to continue serving GISD and I look forward to building new relationships and partnerships.”
