Delayed STAAR Results

As you are aware, schools across the state administered STAAR assessments in April and May. Due to state law, the test was redesigned and administered online for the 2022-23 school year for all students. Due to the STAAR redesign, student results will be delayed this year. While districts are scheduled to receive raw scores this month, the scores will not have assigned performance levels indicating if a student met the passing standard. Therefore, GISD cannot share student individual STAAR results until the state releases the performance levels.

STAAR results that provide the student performance levels are scheduled to be released to districts by May 31st for students who took an End of Course exam and on August 11th for students who took the STAAR test in grades 3-8. Gainesville ISD will notify parents when the performance levels are posted in the State Family Portal.

House Bill 4545 is currently being considered for revision in the 88th Texas Legislature. Any changes to the impact on accelerated instruction for students through HB 4545 will be communicated accordingly.
