As part of our 2023-2024 academic calendar, the fourth Monday of every six-week grading period is a student intervention day.  Students who are recommended to attend on these days are able to receive an additional half day of instruction, free breakfast and lunch, and have the option to utilize bus transportation services.  Teachers are contacting those families directly.  

If you have not received notification of intervention day attendance, then your student will not attend school on the upcoming intervention day. However, we wanted to let you know that GISD will be able to provide free breakfast and lunch for all students, including those who are not attending the intervention day.  This will be in a similar format to meals offered during the summer months.

Intervention day meals are provided at the following times: 

Edison: Breakfast - 8:30 - 9am; Lunch 11:00 - 11:30 am

Chalmers: Breakfast 8 - 9am; Lunch 11 - 11:30 am

Intermediate: Breakfast 8:30 - 8:50 am; Lunch 11:00 - 11:30 am

Junior High: Breakfast 8:00 - 8:30 am; Lunch 11:00 - 11:30 am

High School: Breakfast 8:00 - 8:30 am; Lunch 11:30 am-12:00 pm

We hope that our families will take advantage of this additional opportunity for two healthy student meals during the week.
