  • Spelling Bee Results

    The Scripps Spelling Bee was held at Lee Intermediate on Monday, December 18. Participating students from both 5th and 6th grade competed to earn a place in the top 20, which made them eligible to compete in the campus competition on Monday.   • Learning at Leeper Lake

    Robert E. Lee Intermediate 5th grade students were able to experience a day camp at Leeper Lake, which extended student learning beyond the classroom. This unique opportunity allowed the students to experience first-hand the Life Science learning objectives covered in the classroom.

  • Literacy-Infused Science

    Earlier this year, Lee Intermediate was chosen to participate in a scientific study conducted by Texas A&M University. The name of the study is Project LISTO (Literacy-Infused Science Using Technology Opportunity). The idea behind the study is to support students' learning of science by paying particular attention to vocabulary acquisition. The study supplies all the curriculum which is aligned to the TEKS as well as lab equipment, laptops for the teachers, tablets for student use, professional development for the teachers and other support.

  • December Employee Recognition

    The GISD December Teacher of the Month is Jamie Blumberg. Jamie has been a teacher at Edison Elementary for 10 years. She has taught both kindergarten and first grade throughout this time. Currently, Jamie is a kindergarten teacher in the dual language program. She not only positively impacts her students each and every day, but serves as a mentor and role model for her fellow teachers.The GISD December Employee of the Month is Traci Skinner. Traci is the nurse at Lee Intermediate and has been with the district for 18 years. Traci offers so much more to Lee and to GISD than nursing. She helps the staff and students at Lee physically, emotionally, and socially with her various roles on campus.

  • Launching Student Success through Leadership Development

    GISD Superintendent Dr. Jeff Brasher has initiated the formation of a Student Advisory Council. Students from Lee Intermediate, GJHS, and GHS were selected by their Principals to serve on the committee based on their leadership within organizations on their respective campuses. Read more...

  • GISD Earns Six Campus Distinctions

    Gainesville ISD earned six individual campus academic distinctions in the 2017 Accountability ratings. School districts and their campuses are evaluated on four criteria: student achievement, student progress, closing performance gaps and postsecondary reading level.
