Hello Gainesville Intermediate Families,

My name is Tara Crockett. I am very excited to serve as the Assistant Principal of Gainesville Intermediate School. This is my 23rd year in education and every year has taught me valuable lessons and expanded my tool belt to help support students. During my 23 years in education, I have taught elementary school (grades K, 2, 3, and 4) in Eagle Mountain Saginaw I.S.D., and served as Assistant Principal and Principal at PK-6 campuses in Midland, TX for 6 years. This is my third year in Gainesville ISD and my second as the Assistant Principal at Gainesville Intermediate. 

For me, education is a combination of teaching and learning. It is about building relationships, being a positive role model, and developing rapport with students, families, and staff. Teaching students is my passion and I am excited to work with all students, families, and staff at GIS.

Outside of school, I enjoy shopping, going to movies, trying to new restaurants and spending time with family and friends. I have two sisters, one in Colorado and one in Burleson, TX. Both of my sisters have two boys each, and I am a proud aunt to all four of my nephews. I have had the blessing of raising kids at home from step children to foster children. I also have four God-children, two boys and two girls. I enjoy being able to help kids and being a positive role model for all.
