  • Board of Trustees Names Lone Finalist for GISD Superintendent

    The GISD Board of Trustees met today for a special called meeting. After one discussion item, the board met in executive to interview a superintendent candidate. Upon returning to open session, the board announced that a decision was made to make Dr. DesMontes Stewart the Lone Finalist for the position of Superintendent for Gainesville ISD. The motion was made by Corey Hardin and seconded by Phillip Neelley. The vote was 7-0. Dr. Stewart is currently the Deputy Superintendent at Killeen ISD. He has a total of 19 years experience in education. He received his Ed.D. in 2014 from Stephen F. Austin University. A native of Waco, Texas, Dr. Stewart has three daughters - Kyndhal 21, Cierra 18 and Lyric, 15. Dr. Stewart is extremely excited about his move to Gainesville and was highly appreciative of the school board in this decision. Following the mandatory 21 waiting period, he plans to begin his new chapter as soon as possible.

  • Leopard Football Season Ticket Sales

    The 2018 Leopard football season is less than a month away, with the first game kicking off on August 31 and the first home game on September 7. Reserved season tickets are available for Leopard fans to enjoy all four varsity home games for $20 per seat. 2017 season ticket holders may renew reserve season tickets the week of July 30th – August 3rd. All remaining reserved season tickets will be made available to the public on August 6th. Reserved season tickets may be purchased at the GISD Administration Office located at 800 S. Morris.   • Online Registration Begins

    As a reminder, our district has added the ability to complete all student registrations online. This added benefit will prevent the abundance of paperwork being sent home with your child the first week of school. Names, addresses and other personal information will be filled in automatically, decreasing the time required to complete these required forms. If you have any changes to phone numbers or addresses, please make those updates as you are registering for the new year. It is imperative that we have correct contact information for each student.
