Gainesville is Growing!

  • With recent new housing developments and the planned expansion of I-35, Gainesville ISD is growing. Demographers report that Gainesville ISD will continue to experience student enrollment growth due to a favorable local economy and housing market.

There are hundreds of new home lots available to build on in Gainesville ISD, and thousands more are planned for the future. For the next five years, at least 30 to 50 new single family homes per year are expected to be built within GISD’s boundaries.

To be prepared for that growth, the new Gainesville Middle School would be designed for 850 students, and it would serve students in grades 6-8. By adding sixth grade to the middle school, additional space would be available at the intermediate school and elementary schools, allowing GISD to adjust the grade level configuration and accommodate current and future growth.
