Announcements

  • For the safety of our students, the track at Gainesville Junior High (Old Leeper Stadium) will be closed to the public from 6:30am to 4:30pm weekdays beginning Monday, August 22nd for Junior High activities. It will be open each evening after 4:30pm. Gates to the track will also be opened for public use at 4:30pm each Friday and will stay open through Sunday.

  • College Scholarships Earned

    GHS had an additional 5 students complete the G.E.A.R. internship program this fall, each earning more than $5,600 in college scholarships. On November 15, G.E.A.R. organizers and mentors recognized these students with a scholarship ceremony held at Select Energy Services.

  • United Way Celebration

    Representatives from across the district attended the United Way Celebration luncheon on Wednesday at the Civic Center. Along with the GISD Pacesetter Award, Head Start, Edison, Lee, Special Services, and MGAC all received the Arley Daurity Award for 100% employee participation.

  • 5th Grade Students Attend "Camp Leeper"

    Lee 5th grade students were able to enjoy a day camp at Leeper Lake, which extended learning beyond the classroom. This unique opportunity allowed the students to experience first-hand the Life Science learning objectives covered in the classroom.

  • Seniors Participate in Leadership Gainesville

    Four GHS Seniors participated in the first Leadership Gainesville class of the year, along with 13 other community members. Gabby Brasher, Mary Gerken, Jenny Liu, and Alfredo Moreno heard from the Mayor, City Manager and other city officials, toured the wastewater treatment plant, public safety center, and the Frank Buck Zoo.   • GHS 50-Year Class Reunion

    Members of the GHS Class 1966 celebrated their 50-year reunion on September 24, during Homecoming weekend. Gainesville Junior High was opened up so the alumni could tour the building that was their Gainesville High School. Read more....
