  • Learning Ladder Earns Rising Star

    Congratulations to the Lil Leopards Learning Ladder daycare, located inside Edison Elementary. Under the new ownership of Kitie Hermes and Director Sheila Smith, the facility applied for Texas Rising Star provider status and not only achieved it, but was given a 4 Star Texas Rising Star Status, which is a state accreditation for their program.

    The Gainesville High School Alumni Association is holding the annual Hall of Fame induction ceremony and luncheon on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. The 2017 Hall of Fame Educator inductees are: V.S. Payne, Susie Rouw, and Marcia Schmitz. The 2017 Hall of Fame Alumni inductees are: Phil Adams (Class of ‘64), Mack Barnhart (Class of ‘56), Jane Clayton Hickerson (Class of ‘72), and Jack Mahan (Class of 1916). Read more...

  • GISD Announces United Way Donation Total

    Gainesville ISD is one of 12 company pacesetters for the 2018 United Way of Cooke County campaign. Each year, our students and staff work together to donate to the organization that does so much for the kids in our community and our school district. Our campus and district leadership were able to announce this year's grand total of $11,747 in United Way donations!

  • GISD Earns Six Campus Distinctions

    Gainesville ISD earned six individual campus academic distinctions in the 2017 Accountability ratings. School districts and their campuses are evaluated on four criteria: student achievement, student progress, closing performance gaps and postsecondary reading level.
