GISD Policies for Grievances
The Gainesville ISD Board of Trustees encourages employees, students and parents, and members of the public to discuss their concerns with the appropriate teacher, principal, or administrator who has the authority to address the concerns. Usually, these complaints or concerns can be addressed by a phone call or a conference with the teacher, principal or administrator.
Before filing a formal complaint, the person should exhaust all remedies at the level the situation occurred to resolve the complaint. If for some reason the person feels a formal complaint is needed to resolve the problem, the complaint should be filed as a Level 1 Complaint with the lowest level administrator who has the authority to address and remedy the alleged problem.
