• Head Start, Pre-K and Kindergarten Registration

Parents of students who will be 3, 4 or 5 years of age before September 1, 2024 encouraged to register during one of the district roundup dates below.  All 4-year-old students entering Pre-K and 3 and 4-year-old students entering Head Start must meet eligibility requirements as required by Texas law. For detailed information on Pre-K eligibility, click here. For Head Start qualifications, click here.

    Registration Round Up Dates:

    Thursday, April 8 8:00 AM- 7:00 PM
    Tuesday, April 30 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM
    Wednesday, May 15 2:00 PM - 7:30 PM

Edison staff will be available to answer any enrollment eligibility questions, assist with online registration, and to accept enrollment documentation.   To expedite registration, families of Kindergarten students are encouraged to complete the online registration prior to the round-up, and to bring supporting documentation to complete the student’s registration. Computers will also be available for online registration if the process is not able to be completed prior to the event. If the family currently has a student in the district, please add a new student to the existing parent portal account.  If a parent portal account does not yet exist, go to gainesvilleisd.org/registration and create a new account.

Documentation requirements include: parent identification, child’s social security card, birth certificate, proof of residency, immunization record, and proof of income (to determine Pre-K eligibility).

Head Start is also accepting applications for qualifying 3- and 4-year-old students. For Head Start qualifications, click here.  To make a registration appointment or for qualification questions, please email April Waggoner at awaggoner@gainesvilleisd.org or 940-665-4619.
